About
The foundation of the memorial museum‑reserve “Podolye” is the House‑Museum of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, which was opened on November 7, 1937, on the 20th anniversary of the October Revolution. In Podolsk, the intention to perpetuate the memory of Lenin arose immediately after his death. As early as January 1924, the Podolsk City Council transferred to the newly established Lenin Institute a photograph of the house where Lenin lived with his relatives in Podolsk in 1900. This is the surviving house of the teacher V. P. Kedrova. The architectural appearance of the house and its interior have been restored to the state they were in at the end of the 19th century. The exhibition features authentic items and objects from that era. The area adjacent to the house, the courtyard with outbuildings, and the garden have also been recreated.
The thematic exhibition of the museum, “Ideological and Organizational Principles of Party Construction,” presents an extensive collection of documentary materials that characterize the Podolsk period in the life of the Ulyanov family and the activities of V. I. Lenin.
